Spotlight on Irene Dancer
The Metroport Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to recognize Irene Dancer as our November Ambassador of the Month! Irene’s journey is one of dedication, community involvement, and a passion for customer service that spans decades.
Starting her career in customer service at just 15, Irene gained invaluable experience working in restaurants and later as a customer service agent for DocuMent Works, where she served for an impressive 25 years. Though retired for eight years, her legacy continues as she remains a trusted resource for the company’s customers.
Today, Irene and her husband, John, play a vital role in the Roanoke community. They own two buildings on Oak Street, contributing to its vibrancy and charm. Their property, "The 206," houses four restaurants, Soul Fire Brewery, and an upcoming cigar bar. Meanwhile, their second building is home to Oak St. Bed and Voucher, a cozy retreat operated by Irene and John. Irene’s pride in this venture shines through as she fosters meaningful relationships with their regular guests, creating a home away from home.
Outside of their business ventures, Irene and John have embraced a love for travel, seeking out new adventures and experiences. Their story exemplifies the spirit of giving back, creating community, and embracing life to the fullest.
Please join us in celebrating Irene’s achievements and her unwavering dedication to making our community a better place.
Thank you, Irene, for all that you do!
